VITAL Projects is proud to announce our collaboration with Epilepsy Action, one of the UK’s leading charities supporting people affected by epilepsy. This partnership will see the delivery of a tailored Introduction to Self Advocacy Training programme designed to introduce individuals living with epilepsy to the benefits of Self Advocacy.
The one hour training session is developed to help individuals unsderstand the basics of self advocacy and how it can build self-confidence, develop communication skills and help participants better understand their rights, choices, and the support available to them.
VITAL Projects, known for its person-centred approach and commitment to inclusion, has worked closely with Epilepsy Action to ensure the training reflects the lived experiences of people with epilepsy. The session is designed to be supportive, engaging, and accessible, creating a safe and inclusive space where participants can share experiences and learn from one another.
A spokesperson from Epilepsy Action said:
“Working in partnership with Vital has enabled Epilepsy Action to develop and expand our information by strengthening support around self advocacy for people with epilepsy. Vital’s expertise and experience around self-advocacy within this project has helped empower individuals to understand their rights, build confidence, and communicate more effectively during medical appointments—so they can get the most from their healthcare.”
A spokesperson from VITAL Projects said:
“We are delighted to be working alongside Epilepsy Action and their community. Self-advocacy is a vital life skill, and this programme is all about giving people the tools, confidence, and knowledge to have their voices heard and take control of their own journeys.”
The training programme will launch in May 2026, with sessions delivered to support people living with epilepsy in developing confidence, independence, and stronger self-advocacy skills.
