We provide a free, independent, and friendly service that has empowered thousands of individuals across Bradford and the surrounding districts to have their voices heard within the health and social care system.

Your donation can make a real difference in the lives of those in need. Help us to continue our vital work by giving what you can today.
We would like to let you know that VITAL is not commissioned by Bradford Local Authority to provide Advocacy services in Bradford. Currently different advocacy services are commissioned across 2 main providers which are:
Cloverleaf (ICAT) - enquiries@cloverleaf-advocacy.co.uk
Voiceability - www.voiceability.org/support-and-help/services-by-location/bradford
This may change, so if you need either community or statutory advocacy support please contact the Local Authority directly to find out who the commissioned service provider is at commissioninginbox@bradford.gov.uk
VITAL continues to provide Statutory Independent Mental Health Act Advocacy within specific commissioned settings and some geographically based Community Advocacy and you will be aware that you can still access our services if entitled via our in-reach programmes. As always we will do our best to respond to queries and where possible are happy to signpost people as appropriate.
Looking Ahead
Advocacy remains at the heart of Vital and our work and as ever we are looking at how we evolve to best support people through advocacy especially for people who have no rights and may be vulnerable due to health and or social status.
We will be developing our role in providing people with the skills and support they need to self-advocate, and ensuring people who are often not listened to are heard.
This lived experience story highlights an important truth: while burnout can break us down, self-advocacy can be the key to piecing ourselves back together.

This World Mental Health Day, 10th October 2025, we are shining a spotlight on burnout.
Chronic stress, fatigue, and emotional overload are affecting people across all walks of life—often quietly and unnoticed.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be exploring this important issue in more detail and sharing practical tips to help you manage stress and protect your wellbeing.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and this year it is all about community.
In a world where we're more digitally connected than ever, many people still feel profoundly alone. The truth is, no matter how independent or self-sufficient we try to be, humans are wired for connection. And when it comes to mental health, being part of a supportive community can make all the difference.
Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership launch Keighley & Worth Valley Mental Wellbeing Videos in the run up to Mental Health Awareness Week. Please watch VITAL's video here.
Due to recent funding changes, VITAL has made the difficult decision to vacate our long-standing premises at the Tradeforce Building in Bradford, where we have been based for over 25 years. Our team now operates remotely. However, face-to-face meetings can still be arranged through your advocacy when required.
Sign up to hear from us about new resources, training, and events.
